Course Overview

This course provides the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to prepare for employment in different sectors of Business such as Administration, Retail and Tourism. This course offers learners the opportunity for a programme of study to:- prepare for further learning or training,- develop essential knowledge, transferable skills and personal skills in a subject area that interests them, with the aim of enhancing their employability,- move into different areas of employment,- develop their knowledge and skills as part of their continuing professional development,- achieve a nationally recognised vocational qualification. You will carry out research into different types of businesses within the various sectors, and you will be assessed through the completion of projects and assignments, based on realistic workplace situations and activities. Students will also have the opportunity to complete Essential Skills Level 2 in Communication, Application of Number and OCN Level 2 Award in Social Media.

You will also be required to complete one week’s work placement each term. These placements will include Administration, Retail and Tourism.

What's Next?

Further Study

The qualification is equivalent to 5 GCSEs A* - C, and will allow you to apply to a range of Level 3 courses including BTEC Level 3 Business.

Career Prospects

The course will also offer you the opportunity to enter employment within a range of junior roles across the business sector.
