Course Overview

This course is of interest to those wishing to learn about health and social care, providing adult learners with an opportunity to gain a qualification which can be used as a progression pathway to higher education. It can help you progress to professional courses such as nursing, midwifery, social work, youth/community work, occupational therapy, and other degree courses in the social science/ health studies field. Over the two years you will study the following: Health and welfare; research; study skills including ICT; human anatomy and physiology; psychology and microbiology. Students will also study NICATS Mathematics alongside the course. You will attend classes over one full day per week OR two mornings per week depending on your preferred mode of attendance. Additional time will be needed to undertake independent reading and study. Students following the part time course should refer to entrance criteria above.

No Interview Required. Normal progression to Year 2 of the course requires successful completion of Year 1 assessments.
