Course Overview

This course is aimed at those already employed in the housing sector (a provider or association), as a housing officer or administrator and who wish to develop their knowledge and skills to enable progression within their chosen area of work or in a specialist area. The qualification focuses on the technical skills and knowledge required of a professional housing officer. Units of study include, understanding the housing sector, professional practice skills, customer service, managing leasehold housing properties and managing empty properties which underpin high quality housing practice care, and the role of the Housing Officer in meeting service users’ needs. Students will complete the Level 3 Certificate in Housing and the Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice. Subject to Approval.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

The Housing Practice Apprenticeship NI Level 3 is open to employees aged 16-24 or those about to take up permanent paid employment with a Northern Ireland based company and be contracted to work a minimum of 21 hours per week with one employer. If students do not have Level 2 Essential Skills in Numeracy and Literacy (or equivalent) this will be a mandatory element of the course. Interview with course team to demonstrate the potential to gain the qualification successfully.

Further Study

This course will lead to Level 4 and Level 5 diploma study in Housing Practice and Housing Management.
