Course Overview

This course is aimed at practitioners who are presently employed as supervisors, team leaders or managers/deputy managers within health and social care residential settings. The Level 5 Diploma explores the theories of leadership, addressing key policies, procedures and regulatory frameworks within the industry and how these are applied within the work setting. The candidate will study: • Communication • Equality • Safeguarding • Health and Safety • Partnership Working • Leading and Managing a Team • Governance of Group Living. This qualification is a mandated Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) course and is compulsory for all managers and deputy managers within the sector. The course is supported by one to one peripatetic assessment of 34 hours over the course of the qualification for each student.
