Course Overview

The OCN NI Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care (Adult Management) (Northern Ireland) is a new and innovative qualification that aims to provide learners currently working in a management or leadership role within health and social care with leadership and management training. It will provide a wide range of options to enhance their leadership and management skills and knowledge within the health and social care sector. The Level 5 Diploma explores the theories of leadership, addressing key policies, procedures and regulatory frameworks within the industry and how these are applied within the work setting. Learners will study a range of mandatory and optional units to tailor the qualification to suit their needs.This qualification is a mandated Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) course and is compulsory for all managers and deputy managers within the sector. The course teaching and learning is supported by one-to-one peripatetic assessment of 25 hours over the qualification for each student. This is to meet qualification competency requirements. This is a 90 credit qualification.
