Course Overview

The OCN NI Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care (Adult Residential Management) (Northern Ireland) is a new and innovative qualification that aims to provide learners currently working in a management or leadership role within health and social care with leadership and management training. It will provide a wide range of options to enhance their leadership and management skills and knowledge within the health and social care sector. The Level 5 Diploma explores the theories of leadership, addressing key policies, procedures and regulatory frameworks within the industry and how these are applied within the work setting. Learners will study a range of mandatory and optional units to tailor the qualification to suit their needs.This qualification is a mandated Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority (RQIA) course and is compulsory for all managers and deputy managers within the sector. The course teaching and learning is supported by one-to-one peripatetic assessment of 34 hours over the qualification for each student. This is to meet qualification competency requirements. This is a 90 credit qualification.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

Learners must be at least 18 years of age and currently employed in a management or leadership role within an adult residential setting in health and social care. Learners must be able to evidence competencies within their own work environment and job role.Learners will be required to demonstrate sufficient literacy and numeracy skills to enable them to successfully complete the qualification. Interview and Access NI check required
