Course Overview

This programme is an internationally recognised qualification designed to enable students to gain professional culinary skills. You will train in the production of food to a high standard in modern kitchens and restaurant facilities. This is a dynamic programme which involves both food preparation and cookery elements, where you will prepare & cook a range of foods using a variety of cooking methods. Essential Skills in Numeracy and Literacy are also included if equivalents not already achieved. As an apprentice you are employed in the industry and typically work for an employer three to four days a week. One or two days a week will be spent at college studying your competency and knowledge based qualifications.

Entry Requirements

UK Requirements

Apprenticeships NI Level 2 is open to employees aged 16+ or those about to take up permanent paid employment with a Northern Irelandbased company and be contracted to work a minimum of 21 hours per week (including day release attendance at college) . Students preferrably should have GCSE English and Maths (Grade D). Those who do not have GCSE or Level 1 Essential Skills in Numeracy, Literacy and ICT (or equivalent) must attend additional classes in these subjects in college.
